I saw two previous parades but none came close to the great show on Saturday. Loved the costumes, Latin dancing, and traditional folklore elements.

If you missed last night's parade, you missed something extraordinary. Yes, there were the usual sexy dancers and cute kids and paper mache'd floats. But the highlight was most certainly the dancing, costumes and "over the top-ness" of the traditional "tour" of Mexican culture. Each ensemble was clearly identified by banners preceding their section. All the players remained in character throughout, including interaction with the spectators. WHAT A SHOW. My husband took pictures that are worthy of National Geographic. At some point even the masks seemed animated -- an eery and totally delightful experience. To support this quality and cultural representation to Zihuatanejo speaks volumes for the economic and social importance of this community to the country. I was amazed, enthralled, and so very very happy that I didn't skip this one.! Noisy? Yes. And absolutely marvelous.
