OK...tacky. No thought of all the people who have worked there
for so many years and probably could not find work elsewhere?

Personally,I was at the Dorado and very HAPPY to have been at an all
inclusive hotel. We had our swimsuits on, no money, no ID and no idea
if and when we could get back into the hotel. The staff had the bars
and restaurants around the pool area operating within 2 hours.
Strange feeling to be left with just a smile~~~~

I haven't heard or read anything. I was kind of hoping some of those nasty old high-rise hotels in Ixtapa would just fall down after all the folks were evacuated.

Can I expect the local shops and eateries to be in full operation?
I like to visit Petatlan and from the pics it looks like the church is down for good. But otherwise how're things there now?

Appreciate any fresh pictures if there is something noteworthy to see, but from previous pics I'm thinking most things should be fine. How about the bank? Thanks all - counting the days now!

Walking around town you would be hard-pressed to spot evidence of last Friday's quake. The city had everything cleaned up pretty much by Friday afternoon. I'm not aware of any restaurants or shops that closed. Apparently Banamex is still operating though I'll stick to online banking until the aftershocks are over with. Other banks didn't suffer any damage that I'm aware of.
