The red sky thing applies to mid-latitudes, north and south Mid-latitudes north end at 23 something south. Zihuatanejo is about 17. So your red sky may not be as predictive.

Does "red sky at morning, sailors take warning" apply to Zihuatanejo? Just curious what this kind of sky says about the day.

Well, of course, it says gorgeous. But anything else?

I believe that only applies if eastward is also ocean. In our case eastward is mountainous terrain.

Though there is a large storm to the south of us, it looks to be moving northwestward. We'll be lucky to get any precipitation from it. We can't even seem to get any city water!
