Each society has boats which are permitted to carry passengers to Las Gatas and Ixtapa Island. The color of the ticket denotes which society will transport you. Some societies have more boats in operation than others. The society across from the port captain has the most.

Panga to Las Gatas

Anybody know if there's a real difference between tickets? Last November we went across, having bought our tix at the puerto office. When we went to head back, a guy on the dock at Las Gatas said we had bought a bad ticket, yellow vs white, or something, and we had to wait for the next boat, that his company had more boats than the other at their disposal. Apparently the "better" tickets for the best service had to be purchased at the office across from the naval base HQ. Anyway, he eventually let us on, but I hadn't encountered that before, so want to be clear this time...
