They turn blue after they die. Usually an emerald green, with some blue and lemon yellow stripes. Very beautiful.

He was turquoise blue, very pretty snake. Too bad he was dead from an encounter with some tires it appeared.

It is a Parrot Snake. Leptophis species. Common and harmless.

It looks similar (but on the small side, perhaps a juvenile?) to the blue racer which we have in Michigan. These are of of the species Coluber Constrictor (These are not true constrictors.), and there are several subspecies, including oaxaca, which does live in México, although I do not know if its range includes Guerrero.

Perhaps Wil Mertz can make a positive ID for us.

I know that kind of snake but I can't remember its name, I can't even remember if it's poisonous or not!
There are a lot of those ones around the area in the woods! I guess its particular skin color is due to camouflage so that they are able to hide from predators, I mean they look like straw or something.
