Want to let people be aware of a fraud situation (reply)

Sorry to hear that you were screwed. Don't let that unfortunate experience keep you from return visits. Aside from an occasional "mathematical error" on a restaurant bill, we've never had a problem.

As to the fishing: Large game fish should be released after being caught. If you really want one hanging on your wall, take a picture of the fish before releasing it and get a plastic one made, which will last much longer than the stuffed one.

Want to let people be aware of a fraud situation

Hi,
I was in Zih almost a year ago. Went fishing with Marco Polo and caught a good sized sailfish. Was pursauded to have it mounted and paid cash for the down payment, due to the fact that I was told I would get a better rate than credit card rate. Paid the balance via western union. Was told it would be shipped and I would need to pay shipping charges when it arrived. This was supposed to take two months from the time I signed the contract. I have tried over and over to resolve this with the taxidermist and the guide, with no answers. I am now out 800+ dollars. We trusted these people, and it makes me sad to see we were taken such advantage of. I know you need to be careful, but this all seemed so legitamate at the time. That is the part that bothers me the most is that we took several tours with this man while we were there, and supposedly we where his "friends"

I would like to let others know to not use him as a guide and do not use Artes Oceanicas Taxidery either. I have learned my lesson and will more aware of things if I travel back again.

It is a shame because I absolutely loved the area, but this has really opened my eyes to how people who are trusting can be taken advantage of.

I have a couple of pics of the fish with the guide, but am having a problem figuring out how to insert them, so if you would like to see them check back and I will try to figure out how to post them.

Deb
