I agree. I liked the curve road the best for the view but there certainly were no pull offs. I remember one that had a little half hut selling things but other than that I missed half the view driving. We plan to do that again thisnext year.

We really enjoyed that trip with you, Carol. Much beauty to be seen both ways. The only downside, I thought, was the lack of areas to pull over to really enjoy the views.

We drove to Oaxaca one way and returned the other. Neither way is good, but both scenic. We did not do it by choice but the teachers had the road blocked one way going so we just went the other.

If driving south via Mex 200, it's a nice drive. Watch for clogged highway during market days in Pinotepa Nacional.

Don't make the mistake of taking the road to Oaxaca City from Pto Escondido. Even if it were free of 100,000 bachis (potholes) it would still be awful. Continue on to the entronque to Pto Angel. Though it's further down the coast you'll arrive in the city while you'd still be cursing on the route from Pto Escondido. From the school of hard knocks...

Me too- would go in a heartbeat. We travel often...driving to to Mexico City...to Acapulco...to Puebla...to Morelia...to Guanajuato. Stick to the cuotas (toll roads) or other main roads and only travel during the day (mostly because of the possible cattle on the roads, topes (speed bumps), etc.
