Yes, we ran into them this morning and heard their story. I will definitely be at the meeting on Wednesday. I agree that the Zona Federal and "no municipal authority" is the way to go on this issue.

Owner/friends at the Residencias, behind the Viceroy, arrived from California with their Black Lab on Monday, and were accosted by the inspectors at the south end of La Ropa on Wednesday morning. Being bi-lingual they questioned the inspectors authority. They have been visiting La Ropa for 25 years, and recognize that all Mexican beaches are Federally owned and administered - so deemed the local edict to be invalid.
I hope we can reinforce this position at the Dogs on Beach meeting at Paty's on Wednesday 3rd at 11:30AM.

We always carry extra bags, and have learned a "nice" approach to someone who isn't cleaning up.
We just walk up, offer a bag, and say that sometimes we run out/use them all up, too.

It has been at least a week since we have seen any "doggie cops" on La Ropa. Could it be someone has decided to back off? We can always hope.

If so, then now more than ever we have to work together, all of us, to be our brother's keeper and make sure others don't ruin a good thing for the rest of us. We all need to be beach police and to kindly remind folks to please por favor clean up after themselves and their pets.

Yes, we can! Now if we could only convince the family that sells Noche Buena plants by Plaza Kioto to clean up after themselves . . .

It has been at least a week since we have seen any "doggie cops" on La Ropa. Could it be someone has decided to back off? We can always hope.
