If you want somewhere special I would recommend Tentaciones or La Marea at the Viceroy. Both are expensive but you will enjoy.

La Ropa (reply)

We agree that El Manglar is for lunch, for the view of the critters.

We have guests coming today, and hope to do all of our dining here on La Ropa, so we'll probably try Rossy's tonight for sunset and time adjustment.

We love the Catalina for dinner at La Ropa. But I also have to say my family recently had an exceptional dinner at La Perla.

La Ropa (reply)

Over the years I have found the places on La Ropa to be great for breakfast/lunch/drinks/sunset but not so good for dinners. Too many better options 'off beach' in my opinion. We generally spend our days on the beach and our evenings in town. Having said that, it has been several years since we did have dinner at one of the places previously mentioned - and swore 'never again'- so things may have changed for the better.

La Ropa (reply)

On La Ropa proper. I think Dona Prudencia has the most interesting food. Nice wine, too. If you want to eat in bare feet, consider Elvira's or Paty's and order grilled whole snapper to share and a flamed dessert.

Either way, end the evening with a quiet walk on the beach. Try to ignore the lights at Viceroy.

If you are interested in something moderately/low price for dinner and drinks, we enjoy Rossey's. Go before sunset to the upper level. Nice breeze and beautiful sunset. Good music on Thur. Fri. & Sat.

La Ropa (reply)

We love El Manglar, but prefer it for lunch, so you can see the crocs and the iguanas while you're eating. Albeit not on but above La Ropa, we like to splurge on one dinner at Amuleto. It's quite pricey, but they have the tastiest Magaritas in town and by far the best view. So, if you go, go early. Reservations required.
