The bay on Tsunami Day ... (reply)

Speaking of tsunamis, I found it kind of ominous in the article about the museum in La Chole it mentioned that the area of the archaeological ruins was abandoned after the entire coastal area was flooded. That must've been one helluva tsunami!

Regarding Jeff's video, there are other services besides YouTube. The video just needs to be on a server somewhere.

Jeff took video but I can't post it. Does it have to be on youtube?
Oh well.
Such an interesting day from my vantage point. Such a day of devastation for so many.
Growing up in SoCal, used to earthquakes, I still can't wrap my mind around the horror of so many lives and homes lost and disrupted. Can any of us really?
The gall-durn earth got thrown of it's axis fer cryin' out loud!
Going to be interesting to see what changes are in store. I'm thinking there will be many. I wonder if we will live long enough to witness.

Surely the moon and the tides are going

99 bottles of wine in the cellar ...

La Contracorriente Marina Ecuatorial (reply)

¿No tenía que ver con el tsunami?

No, the current is a yearly natural phenomenon. Last year was a strong one and it took out a lot of beach all up and down the coast, flooding many beachfront enramadas. This year appears to be a milder one. It could mean that our rainy season will begin earlier. It rained the day before yesterday down the coast a little ways. Mexican meteorologists have forecasted a rainier season this year than last because of the effect of La Niña.
