Wow.That is astonishing. I have been thrown out of La Perlas' concession beach ( which extends far beyond its permitted boundary )with my King Charles Spaniel, and know of many people who have been turned away - or told to bring their small Chihuahua in a carry cage !!
Francisco must have had a day off when you were there.
All other restaurants on La Ropa permit your restrained pooch to accompany you, although Arena runs hot and cold on the issue.

Maybe my granddog is the cutest dog in the world..., seriously I was very upset last fall reading about the doggie cops and was unsure that Louie should come, he did and there was no problem anywhere. Just wish the best for you. Does your dog wear flowers?

I've had some long and fruitful discussions (and will continue having them) with the owners of both La Perla and the property where Arena is, so hopefully we are coming closer together on this issue.

Puerto del Sol -- it's down the road a bit. They not only love dogs, they love their customers. Patricia Carrion (jazz singer from Mexico City) happens to be performing tonight and tomorrow. 7:30pm and a second set at 9:30.

Paty's absolutely and today I saw the sweetest brown and white rat terrier at a beach table at La Perla. My granddog Louie, half Boston terrier half Chihuahua, sits with the family everyday on the beach at La Perla when he visits. We don't take him thru La Perla though.

we are thinking of stepping outside our box and trying some other restaurants on Playa la Ropa before we leave. Rossy's is great and very dog friendly. Any other places that would welcome Roxy? Any places to avoid?

As far as I know Roxy should be welcome everywhere but La Perla. If you take her to El Manglar you'll want to keep her close by since there are crocs in the estuary there, though I've never seen them bother anyone who wasn't bothering them.
