Stayed with Eduardo at Villas El Morro, great rooms, which are really one bedroom apartments with kitchens, at reasonable prices with a fantastic view.

No smoking ordinance being enforced in many of the restaurants was greatly appreciated.

The improvements to downtown: red tiled sidewalk overhang, signage and statues added visual appeal.

Noticeable lack of tourists in town, Went to a popular restaurant on Friday evening and only half of the tables were taken.

Seafood stuffed chile relleno at Lety’s was fantastic.

Had a great meal at Rufo’s and enjoyed the jazz performed by a live saxophone player.

Many establishments using flat screen TV’s to air music videos from the 80’s and 90’s. I’m not sure who this is supposed to appeal to, but Barry Manilow, Michael Bolton and Whitney Houston at volumes so high that conversation is difficult does not enhance the dining experience. Actually ate at one local place on Ejido with excellent food and good prices, we would have dined there again except for the loud music videos.

Wonderful experience at Coconut’s, my son wanted to see his college team in the NCAA tournament, but they were being telecast on a rather obscure network. Checked every sports bar in town that we could think of with no success. We had noticed this network on at Coconut’s the night before. Coconut’s was closed, but my son poked his head through the window and asked if they would be showing the game. It was an hour and a half before the restaurant was to open, but they invited us in, put the game on and made us the best Margaritas we had during our stay.

All in all a great visit: good weather, food was great, friendly people and felt perfectly safe the entire time. Planning to return this summer.
