The current mar de fondo apparently didn't keep all the fishermen from working. The beachfront market was a-bustling this morning and there was plenty of yummy-looking fish being bought up rather quickly in anticipation of a busy day owing to it being Día de los Maestros, which even though it isn't an officially sanctioned holiday schools will be closed because too many teachers traditionally simply don't show up to work on this day (even though I always did). Beaches will be full of hungry teachers by the time of la comida, and seafood is by far the favorite local dish.

Smoke from all the fires has made the sunrises and sunsets quite red lately.
