Thank you so much. This will be my seventh year at the Irma so maybe they'll consider me a regular.

Can't wait to head back in December. Although I must say Seattle has had the most gorgeous late winter and spring ever! 92 degrees on my patio today. When I see the lousy weather back east I wonder why they Seattle the rainy city as we get far less rain than the rest of the country.

Hard to get those rooms. We have stayed there for 10 years. I have been told you must need to be a "regular" staying at least 10 years to get those rooms. Maybe we can get one next February. May depend on the time of year you go.

Hotel Irma Rooms (reply)

As I get older I find my body handles the heat and sun a little less every year. I have been a guest at the Hotel Irma for several years now staying on the 2nd floor above the restaurant. This year I'd like to stay in one of the more shaded rooms to the left of the pool facing the ocean... a few steps down from the pool deck. Does anyone know what room numbers these are?

Those much sought-after rooms are in the 100 and 200 range. I believe there are 5 rooms at each level, with the 100s being just slightly below the level of the large pool, and the 200s above them. We've stayed in the 100s and they are abso-blanking-lutely wonderful. This year our AC conked out and in one day a brand new unit was installed.
Plus, and I do mean PLUS, the camarista there (probably the 200s too) is Rosario, who is such a delightful and sweet person. You certainly know about how good the service is and how friendly the staff is at Hotel Irma. Rosario is the ace of the whole crew. She is the person who comes to my mind's eye whenever posters here mention how wonderful are the people of Zihuatanejo.

So, yes, I recommend that you have a go at one of the 100 or 200 level rooms. You may have to wait a day or two for one to open up, but it's worth it.
