Only 3 captains have tagged & released 100 billfish in one year, last one was in 1983. Santiago was the third one, Adan had 67.

A few are, they are beginning to catch on.

As a wholesale hook dealer I have given away circa 20,000, the majority were tossed, but like the tagging effort I was told wouldn't happen, times are a changing. Thankfully

I don't know about other captains but Julio uses circle hooks when he fishes for large game.

I'll second that, Ernesto. I hadn't realized there were captains in Zihua so committed to C & R. Do you (or you, Keith) know if they've tried circle hooks?

A Big Hats off to Santiago Valdavinos and His Brother Adan , Numbers 1 & 2 in the World for Tag & Release Bill Fish 2013 , Santiago broke a 30 year drought by releasing 105 Bill Fish in a year ,Buen Hechos Amigos !
