Had Xmas dinner there the last 2 yrs. Amazing!!! They don't do thanksgiving, as they don't open until the beginning of Dec

Though we haven't tried it, friends say that Los Tres Amigos, down near the church, does an excellent Thanksgiving and Christmas turkey dinner with all the trimmings.

Reminds us of the year we had Christmas dinner around the corner, at Rick's, where most of the guests were either sailors or yachters, and the dinner conversations all salty yarns. Having just driven down to Mexico, we definitely felt like fish out of water. Nevertheless, when asked what boat we'd come down on, they seemed satisfied when I replied, (not entirely accurately): "We're on the Malibu."

Rufo's, though I carved 4 turkeys for him last year, and was so sick of the sight of the birds after that, I'm leaving town before this year, LOL.

Actually the restaurant is Mama Norma and Deborah, same place, 2 names. Look for the purple awning, Deborah's smiling face and the smell of wonderful food.

Think most people know it by Deborah's since she's in charge and always there.

I thank Deborah's has the longest tradition in Ixtapa. The first time we had Thanksgiving dinner at her place was 2007 when we were celebrating our 10th wedding anv. She told us she had learned that she had to start baking and other projects earlier than that week and by starting earlier it was much easier in having everything ready. For ones not familiar with Ixtapa, Deborah's is not on the main street and is different than Momma Norma's.

I agree, the best Thanksgiving dinner I ever had was at Deborah's in Ixtapa. She has 2 settings for reservations, one early and one late. I ALWAYS have Thanksgiving dinner there when I'm in town that week. Although there are other options you can't go wrong at Deborah and Mama Norma's.

CVMgreat place too stay.Rufos short trip away ,plan on road cons.,make res. Weve eaten there last 5/6 years,full,usually starts about 630/700.

I agree about Deborah's about the turkey dinner. We were there a couple of years ago and every table was taken, she was turning customers away if they did not have reservations. That evening places around her only had 1 or 2 customers. The dinner was really good- she said that she had to start cooking days earlier to be able to have everything ready for that 1 special dinner.

Best Thanksgiving dinner around or even at home is at Deborah's in Ixtapa. She makes everything from scratch, gravy, pie's you name it, well worth going to Ixtapa for. Make sure to make reservations, she books up fast.

There are several places that offer a complete norte Americana style thanksgiving dinner. Two that come to mind are La Hija de Capitan and Coconut's.

So finally have a flight reservation for Thanksgiving week!
I gave up on flying from SAN so my wife and I are jumping the border to Tijuana and flying AM with a 6 hour stop in MEX. Were so looking forward! Last time I was there was there we left the day before 9/11. Will be first time for my wife. Would have preferred Alaska Airlines but the return flights were SO expensive.
Is there is a Mexican equivalent to the TSA? Were going all carry on for our week stay. Weight limit is 29 lbs total per person, ouch!
Staying in a unit at La Casa Que Ve Al Mar.
So, about that dinner....
