As of today, since April 18, 2020 Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 2,116 confirmed cases of Covid-19 (6 more than yesterday), 171 that have resulted in fatalities, 27 that are currently active, and approximately 1,784 that have recovered.

My wife and I were extremely saddened today to watch city workers destroy another beloved tree in the garden in front our home. A 50+ year old almendra that provided considerable shade. Yet another tree the city government promised they would respect. Again they lied. The garden is the one known as Plaza del Artista. It was originally purchased by our family and some neighboring families and donated to the city government with the understanding they not build anything that blocked the view. No one imagined they would one day destroy the trees and fill it all in with tons of concrete. This is a considerable falta de respeto to my wife and her family as well as to the other families who donated this land, something that simply shouldn't be done here in Zihuatanejo. Needless to say, the indignation by friends and neighbors is considerable.

A view to a thrill! ¡Viva Zihuatanejo!
