As of today, since April 18, 2020 Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 2,122 confirmed cases of Covid-19 (6 more than yesterday), 172 that have resulted in fatalities, 28 that are currently active, and approximately 1,788 that have recovered. Let's hope the numbers don't start going back up now that we're on Semáforo Amarillo. La Unión currently has 1 active case, and Petatlán has 2.

Things remain relatively quiet in Zihuatanejo. A few whoopers and hollerers and boombox cars at night, but things seem to consistently quiet down by midnight in our part of town, which is certainly tolerable.

Our perfect weather continues. How boring, right? Ha! We love it!

No red tide has been declared or confirmed, so local bivalves have not been subject to any ban. The algal bloom is still around, but not toxic.

The local outrage continues over the killing of the trees by the local government in our plaza. Surprise surprise surprise! A sprinkler system is being installed for the planters at Plaza del Artista. The government must've seen all the comments about how their plants all died on the La Madera part of the project. I don't have to tell anyone what's going to happen to the sprinkler system, right? But hey, it's the thought that counts. A step in the right direction. Let's see how many cheapo sprinkler heads they lose before they learn the next step. Hey, I'll be surprised enough if it works the first time they try it. It was obviously an afterthought, but sometimes that's how progress happens.

Goin' SUPin'!

An afterthought is better than no thought!

I agree with you...a sprinkler system in a public traveled/frequented space is under constant "siege" and needs continual maintenance and repair.

I appreciate your daily music and Zihua updates. Thank you!
