The Telcel in Ixtapa beside the Oxxo. Ask the greeter at the door. We did and after waiting our turn for service, he personally handled our needs. Two sim cards, 79 pesos each and 200 pesos each for phone, text and data for a month.

I understand that but I don't know of one in Zihua and Ixtapa is only a 85 peso cab ride away.

Wise advice, as always. The locals love it when you speak the most rudimentary Spanish. It might be difficult for you at first, but don't be afraid to sound like a fool. It's the best way to learn a language. Think about how most everyone in Canada and the U.S. will do their best to help someone who is just learning to speak their first words in English. (The exception, of course, is those who will remain nameless -- Trump supporters! Forgive them, for they know not what they do. Immigrants are what has made the U.S. what it is.)
One of the best systems available is the Pimsleur method. It is expensive but very good and will get you speaking in a few months. Check your local library as they may have it available to check out.

There is a TelCel office in Zihua that will get you what you need. It is on calle Nicholas Bravo just east (toward Nova Scotia bank) of the Fishing Hole bar. Used it many times. They have an English speaking rep.
