Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Gro., October 20, 2022 - The schedule of the allusive tourist-cultural program to the celebration of the Day of the Dead is ready and was already published by the municipal government of Zihuatanejo; it will be a series of events, from October 29 to November 2 this year.
It is about the "Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo Day of the Dead Festival 2022" which aims to keep alive this ancient tradition and in turn, provide entertainment to domestic and foreign visitors visiting the destination on those dates.
For the first day,
October 29 at 20:00 will be the lighting of the Monumental Catrina of Zihuatanejo, in Kyoto Square; the next day, October 30 at 19:00 will be held cultural Sundays with the theme of "Welcome to Mictlán" Also from a Mexican character costume contest.
On October 31 at the Archaeological Museum, at 19:00 will be held a textile runway called "Catrinas of my land Michoacán and Guerrero", while on November 1, at 19:00, will be the traditional Catrinas Parade, par Kyoto square tent and sightseeing the main streets of the city.
Finally, on November 2, in the municipal court, the Catrinas de Zihuatanejo 2022 contest will be held, at 19:00 o'clock.

We will arrive on 30 Oct and are hoping to witness some of the observances in Zihua this year.

Rob, do you have line of sight on events surrounding Dia de Muertos? It will be an especially meaningful time for us after losing a beloved family member last May.
