Scotia Bank fideicomiso

Wondering if anyone who has a trust thru Scotia Bank has received any type of reminder notice this fall to pay their yearly Trust fees? Mine are normally due in November.

The last two years Scotia has refused all of my email and phone call efforts to obtain an accounting or even an acknowledgement of my payment when I pay it in person at the branch on Benito Juarez in El Centro.

A completely dysfunctional outfit.

Five years later and we still haven't been able to pay or get it in place.

We'll have citizenship hopefully next year and will have the Notary figure it out.

In the past, we have dealt with Amarantha Padilla at Scotia Bank: apadilla@scotiabank.com.mx

And if you do contact her, the only way to get a response is to be totally panicked about losing your property because you can't pay the fees. This will only get you a response. Maybe. If you are lucky. Nothing will get done.....

It might be worth a trip to Acapulco to rattle her cage.

Not going to waste our time. We'll be citizens in the next year and won't need a fidocomiso.

I do not get notified to pay. It is on my long-term Calander. Your receipt from the bank teller is your official receipt. Take extra pictures and safeguard it.

I send an email to Amarantha with a copy and state my trust has been paid. I usually get a response.

BTW>this July they would not take USD at the bank. Payments had to be made to the account in Pesos or to the wire transfer account in USD.

Scotia Bank is totally useless except when they want your money. Keep your bank receipt copied and in a safe place. The bank doesnt have any proper records and they wanted to charge me an extra year but I had the receipt. The next property I bought , I went with Intercam and and they are fair and if your Spanish isnt too good, at least you can communicate with them with any issue you have. Scotia is a lost cause

Ditto to all above! it is almost impossible to pay...I tried to pay in May and they wouldn't take U.S. money either...yet they CHARGE in U.S. funds and we've always paid that way. Go figure. We still have our house, though!
on another note...
MUSIC at El Canto De Las Sirenas with Gemma, Alfredo, Rudolfo and bass player, Joe. No cover and great food!!

We have had no problem and the communication good. We have two trusts one at Bancomer one at Scotia. We are going to switch them over to Intercam just because we bank there and it will be much easier communicating. Bancomer is always such a cluster.

We were told it would be quite difficult and expensive to switch the fiduciary holder. How far have you looked into it, and can you share any info? Thanks.

We found our you change over before your trust is due. You have to go to a notart with your property papers and the notary will arrange to ge the trust transferred to intercan. You have to pay the trust amount of 520 dollors plus one year in advance. Once you have what you neet from the notary take money and papers to Intercam, done deal.
