Health authorities in Guerrero confirm 13 currently active cases of Covid-19 in Zihuatanejo, 1 in Coyuca de Benítez, 202 in Acapulco, and 277 in the entire state. The 6th wave continues.

We enjoyed another wonderful evening of cool weather that was perfect for sleeping and snuggling. And once again the bay was calm as glass in the morning.

Apart from the sismo in Atoyac this Sunday morning that apparently only caused light damage in the immediate area from what I saw posted and a woman who fell from the second floor of her hotel in Acapulco, Sunday couldn't have been a lovelier day along the Costa Grande of Guerrero. Lots of families are here enjoying themselves, always a wonderful sight to see.

There are likely to be some gunshots along with fireworks this Sunday night at midnight, as usual, so I recommend being indoors under a solid roof during the beginning of Mexico's holiest day of the year. And don't forget to tune into Canal de las Estrellas around 11:30PM or so to enjoy the celebrations live from the Basílica de Guadalupe.

We are grateful for the pleasure of waking up to such beauty and tranquility right out our front door every morning. Such a privilege.

Although there were a few fireworks last night, compared to previous years it was very few, as were the processions shooting off bottle rockets. I don't know if some of the padres asked their followers not to use fireworks or if local authorities were a factor, but I've heard and seen friends and neighbors praising the relative peace we enjoyed downtown this year.

Now if only we could convince state and local authorities that we don't want an explosive pyrotechnic display for New Year's. Lots of friends and neighbors are also expressing this desire.
