Though many dogs are still being reported as lost from all the bottle-rockets being launched, there still seem to be fewer rockets than in previous years, for which many of us are thankful.
The whale that was seen wrapped in a fishing net in front of Playa La Majahua in Troncones was unable to be rescued before the sun set. Rescuers who went to try to free it said it apparently spooked and sounded (went deep) when they tried to pull the net off. But if it's tired, as was also reported, it'll probably still be in the general area in the morning, taking into account the currents. I reported to the Sector Naval this afternoon, and I'm sure someone at Troncones reported it to someone, too. The Marinos will go look for it tomorrow. If you are here and go fishing, please keep an eye out for it and report its location to the Sector Naval if you see it. See their #s on my Telephones page.
