Guerrero's state health officials confirm 7 currently active cases of Covid-19 in Zihuatanejo, 1 in Benito Juárez, 59 in Acapulco, and 142 in the entire state.
Got a bit warm today, a sign of things to come. Also, there's been a bit of smoke in the air from the nasty power plant in Petacalco (a legacy of Nafta). The water remains cool, and Ixtapa always feels a little cooler than Zihuatanejo. Of course, all of Zihuatanejo's recently poured concrete only makes it feel even hotter. According to Conagua, at least 3 heat waves will hit us between now and May. Oh boy, something to look forward to.
Busloads of visitors were already arriving this Thursday morning for the long weekend. Hotels are expected to be nearly full this weekend. I hope you got any banking done that you needed doing because banks will be closed Monday for the long weekend, meaning that Tuesday will also be a bad day to go to the bank. This Thursday, however, was a breeze. Se lo dije.
