Bill, I think you may have misunderstood my response.

1. I agree that both the democratic and republican parties share blame in the gridlock that exists. My post was in response to a prior post by Nicanit who placed the blame squarely on Obama and the democratic party for starting this situation. We need to start talking like americans again, rather than like democrats and republicans.

2. I never called for open borders in my post and I don't think that is the ideas we should have. I simply think that the current system of quotas that the U.S. has based on the country you are from (i.e. what color your skin is likely to be) is a very bad policy and detours from the ideals we should be holding which is to allow a reasonable and legal way for people who are oppressed to enter our country.

It seems undeniable to me that the current administration has stoked racism in our fair country (i.e. U.S.) in order to advance their own agendas. Agendas which increasingly seem to favor dictators, autocrats and oppressive regimes around the world.
