Zih Blues, Reds, Greens and Yellows

We have often seen some of these visitors walk into a beach-side restaurant with a cooler. They sit down at a table and eat and drink what they brought; rarely do they order anything. Upon departure, their trash stays on the table. Amazing that the restaurants allow this kind of behavior.

The restaurants always make money off of them. Sometimes they simply charge a minimum fee for the use of the tables and chairs. It's not like the place is busting over with middle-class tourists or better looking to fill up the restaurants, so SOME business is better than NO business.

Of course if the restaurants refused to serve them even though they only buy a bottle of water and a plate of guacamole the tourists would denounce them to PROFECO. Mexico's beaches are supposed to be public to everyone, and the restaurants are not supposed to discriminate.

Of course maybe it's just me, but I never wanted to hang out at a beach where I couldn't afford the services, but the tour operators don't care what problems they cause for us locally as long as they make their money. Isn't that what greed-driven laissez faire capitalism is supposed to be about?
