Nice too see, when I first came to Zihu the population was only about 30,000. The Crocs and turtles where on every beach. The growth of Ixtapa funneled a need for more workers.

Those workers seemed to eat most of the crocs, eggs and Turtles. Someone probably would have killed it for food if not removed.

On another note, this would be a good time to cull all the dogs that frequent the beach.

No, the workers didn’t eat them. Jeezuss where do you come up with this stuff?

The cocodrilos that used to live in what became Ixtapa’s golf course were mostly moved to Laguna del Negro or the lagoon that became the marina, although my wife took care of some before returning them to the campo de golf after it was finished.

The ones that lived in the lagoon that is now the marina were unfortunately slaughtered by greedy foráneos related to the marina construction to sell their skins. Pissed a lot of locals off.

The people who came to work for the hotels in Ixtapa are not responsible for the disappearance of turtles or cocodrilos. They either ate at their places of work as I also did when I worked at the Sheraton or they got their food at the local market like everyone else.
