As of last evening Zihuatanejo registered 428 cumulative confirmed cases of Covid-19, 233 cases recovered, 101 active cases, and 54 deaths. There has been a downward tendency in numbers of new cases the week before last compared to three weeks ago. Because of the delays awaiting test results, the past week is not included in the tendencies. But nationally the past two weeks have also shown a downward tendency of new cases. The free public testing that began locally last week is bound to increase local numbers, but let's hope the national trend continues.

The weekend tourists have all returned to their homes, and Zihuatanejo is once again mostly empty of tourists. This weekend saw more tourism than the previous weekend, but unfortunately lots of them were not seen wearing cubrebocas downtown.

Finally got water. The city sent us a pipa but it didn't have a long enough hose to reach our tinacos, so they sent a second one that did. It sure is handy to have friends in the right places.

A small delfín was spotted at Playa La Madera this morning by a friend. It's nice to see them in the bay. They are usually bothered by all the boat activity.

Besides our beautiful beaches, there are many other sights and activities worth making time for when you are here. Be sure to avail yourself of the wonderful people whose services I can wholeheartedly recommend. Please consider putting down a deposit for their services for your next visit. It will help them to make up for the past several months that they have been out of work like most folks here.

It's siesta time! My favorite Mexican custom! ¡Buen provecho!
