Now now, Lets try and remain positive. I truly believe they want it to look nice. Problem is some peoples version on nice is different than that of others. Most of us don't want nice, we want natural. But others live here and they may not see it that way. I think it will be nice to see basketball games again, singing and festivals, and families having a gathering place. Some trees may have gone away, but lets hope that more trees will be planted to take their place and provide shade and beauty once again.

Planting a tree to take the place of one that's been cut down for no reason is like using a child to replace someone that's been murdered. It just don't cut the mustard, and most of my friends and neighbors aren't happy with the excesses the city has taken, especially with the concrete on the beach and in what used to be quaint little plazas. The expression "se pasa" is the most commonly used to describe what the mayor's done.

Looking nice was never the point. The point was to justify the disappearance of millions of budgeted pesos by spreading tons of concrete around and planting some silly little plants and palm trees to replace all the trees and plants they destroyed for no reason, many planted by neighbors and even a few planted by us. Trees many of us grew up with here.
