Please notice the Friday start hour has been changed for a third time from 11:00 to 12:00.

Puerto Vallarta vaccination experience.
We were given the first injection on Feb. 25. Arrived at the convention center at 8 am. There were about 3,000 people already in line. We waited 7 hours in the sun to get registered and into the building. One more hour to get the injection and out the door. Total 8 hours. Part of the large crowd problem was people from as far away as Guadalajara came to get the vaccine. None were turned away.

We received the second injection on April 6 just under the wire for the maximum period between vaccinations. This time the shots were separated in 2 hour segments by first initial of the last name. 9 to 11, 11 to 1, 1 to 3 and 3 to 4. Fools that we are we arrived at 12:00 for our 1:00 start time. There were clearly more than 3,000 people waiting in line. People had started lining up at 3:30 am...There was no regard or control as to scheduled times. If you got in line you got injected. There were even many people who had not had the first injection.

The government had greatly increased the number of nurses giving the injections and taking in groups of 500 instead of 75 on the first round in Feb. As a result we waited only 3 hours in the sun with an additional hour for getting the injection in a room with 250 people and an additional room with another 250. Total 4 hours, big improvement.

Take water and an umbrella.
