Tormenta Tropical "Roslyn" formed up off our coast and continues growing, but the forecast puts its trajectory in a loop up towards the coast of Jalisco. Our port is currently closed to small vessels, and we should be getting some larger waves along our coast that could cause erosion on beaches facing the open ocean.

Nevertheless, apart from being mostly cloudy, Thursday was a lovely day. Got so cool during the night I had to put on a t-shirt and sleep under a sheet. We should expect more of the same tomorrow. The storm will likely suck all the humidity along with it. Could be the end of our rainy season...

Quite a few sea turtles arrived at our downtown beach last night. Holes were left by whomever removed the eggs. Hopefully they weren't poachers. The turtle's tracks continue being irregular, wandering parallel to the water's edge, often nesting barely above the waterline. A shame Zihuatanejo doesn't have a more attentive, altruistic, professional and caring Director de Ecología to dim the extremely bright beachfront lights at night along the downtown waterfront.

While it's still nesting and hatching season for sea turtles, now is a perfect time of year to stay at Casa de la Tortuga located beachfront at Playa Blanca. This 2-bedroom apartment features a living and dining area, kitchen, 1 bathroom, and a pool. Guests can participate in the release of baby sea turtles because the apartment is used to raise funds for the Campamento Tortuguero Ayotlcalli located on the same property.
