Zihuatanejo continues with 1 confirmed currently active case of Covid-19. The only other confirmed case along the entire Costa Grande is 1 case in Benito Juárez.

What a fun day for downtown residents and businesses... NOT! The municipal government decided it needed to waste the taxpayers' money digging up and "repairing" parts of the Juan N. Álvarez and Cinco de Mayo streets that were not in need of repair. One of the tools they used was a backhoe fitted with a monster jackhammer that literally shook our entire home, so I guess it did the same for others as they worked their way down the street. Then of course a cement truck had to come along to pour fresh cement from you-know-who's cement company. They decided that siesta time was the best time to carry out this nonsense. My poor wife tried to rest anyway but only ended up with a headache. I ended up nodding out in my office. The utter disrespect by this municipal government for its citizens continues.

Walking back from the pier with my sweetie this evening I had to detour to the waterline to tell tourists watching recently hatched baby turtles to turn off their phone lights and not to touch them. The turtles were frozen in the sand, confused as to which way to go with a group of tourists right on top of them. Amazing that with all the city employees along the waterfront no one seems to be keeping an eye on the sea turtles nesting and hatching.
