Guerrero's health officials confirm 9 currently active cases of Covid-19 in Zihuatanejo, 101 in Acapulco, and 342 for the entire state.

This coming Saturday we receive our first cruise ship visit in over a year since the MS World on the 15-16 of December 2021. The local government will make a big deal over it, but they appear more concerned about pouring cement wherever they can and photo ops, though I'm sure the mayor and his wife enjoyed their trip to Spain this week footed by the taxpayers. Local merchants will be glad to see them, but often for all the hoopla the politicians make for their photo ops, they end up hurting the sales of local merchants hoping to have tour ship passengers stop by their shops.

[image]One tour I hope some of them take is to visit El Refugio de Potosí. They give guided tours, and they have some amazing exhibits including the reconstructed skeleton of a sperm whale that washed up on the shore near Barra de Potosí (the only reconstructed whale skeleton in Mexico), an observation tower, a wheelchair accessible footpath for observing local flora and fauna, and a butterfly pavilion.
