Guerrero's state health officials haven't posted today's Covid-19 report yet. Maybe later.

Wednesday was fairly quiet in Zihuatanejo although there were some tourists, both national and foreigners, and local shops enjoyed some sales, thank goodness. The weather certainly continues to cooperate, but the heat is here, and the sun is up and hot early.

I wonder when the first rain will fall? I'm going with my wife and saying June 1st.

We've got a few holidays and a long weekend coming up. The 30th is Día del Niño, so there will be lots going on for the children. Also this coming weekend is a puente for Día del Trabajador on Monday, May 1st, so we're expecting some crowds. Then the following weekend is the Aniversario de la Batalla de Puebla (5 de Mayo) as well as the Torneo de Pez Vela, and for me Saturday is Derby Day, though I won't be making any mint juleps like I used to do year after year at my mother's Derby Day parties. Then especially don't forget Wednesday is Día de la Madre. Whew! Be lucky to get any work done during the next week.

Today was the first day I've seen turtle tracks on Playa Principal in several months, but they barely went above the waterline where waves washed up the night before. I suspect the way-too-bright lights that also face the ocean are once again affecting turtle nesting on the downtown beach.
