State health officials for Guerrero confirm 8 currently active cases of Covid-19 in Zihuatanejo, 5 in Atoyac, 72 in Acapulco, and 167 in the entire state.

Huge waves pounded our beaches last night and throughout the day this Friday. Another mar de fondo event. Just in time for the fishing tournament. I believe they're the largest waves we've had so far this year.

Man oh man has the weather ever changed! The heat is ON. The humidity and heat have arrived, and I expect they will only increase along with the smoke in the air until the rains arrive. Rains are predicted in the nearby region in the next few days, but not here in Zihuatanejo. Time to move slowly and stay hydrated.

Participants in the fishing tournament await the 8AM starting pistol before heading out to sea. Unfortunately, since this year we AREN'T on Horario de Verano the starting time is actually an hour later than it normally would be, and everyone's burning a lot of daylight and fuel when normally they'd've already been fishing by now. Hopefully they'll fix this next year.
