It really looked like it was going to rain this Thursday evening as the cloudy sky grew dark gray over the hills to the southeast, but it was only a tease. No pasa nada. While the temperature reached around 33°C today, the ambient temp from all the concrete and humidity made it feel more like 40°C. Hot. Even the water temp is up to 29.6. Sure hate to see the continued loss of trees on our hillsides as they get built up with condos and luxury villas on one side and regularized land invaders on the other, imitating everything that's wrong with Acapulco.

It turns out that lots of locals didn't celebrate Día de las Madres as normal this year because they didn't have the money. Between the pandemia and the lack of tourism with the purchasing power we need many of us are still living day to day. But the flower shops still did pretty well. I'd been worried about them yesterday. And the reason we saw so many empty restaurants during the evening was because many folks took their moms out for breakfast or lunch due to the heat.

Waves from the ongoing mar de fondo effect reached halfway up the unpaved part of the downtown beach during the night.
