Tuesday afternoon during our siesta there was a loud metallic clang in the street right in front of our home. A truck with sand, gravel and bags of cement backed into a lamp post and knocked it down, missing our home by less than a meter, taking down quite a few telephone fiber-optic wires with it. Oops!

How about that storm Tuesday night? Blew one of our bougainvillea plants right out of its planter. Broke clean off at the ground level. This is a plant that has survived many storms including Huracán Rick, just to give you an idea of the strength of last night's gusts of wind. The wind and the lightning was quite impressive. Thankfully the rain was quite mild in comparison. I suspect a tromba blew across the bay and was broken up by the hills that do such an excellent job of protecting us. The lights only went out for an instant when a transformer somewhere blew up and lit up the sky even brighter than the almost continuous lightning was doing. I hope everyone and their plants are okay. The storm cooled things down considerably while it was happening. Even got to sleep under a sheet after it passed.

Looks there will be a parade of tropical disturbances passing off our coast that that could churn up some waves and send some rain and wind gusts our way. Today was a typical día de Canícula. Large waves are predicted for open coastal areas.
