I saw a fishing panga being towed by another fishing panga into the bay and up to Playa Principal this morning. Good to see the fishermen looking out for each other. It's a terrible feeling being at sea and having your motor conk out. Been there, done that. Took the fugger apart with a pair of cheap pliers and a screwdriver, cleaned it and put it back together and got us back to port from a long ways out.

Saturday night was NOT a good night to try to get any sleep in downtown Zihuatanejo. Between boombox cars, motorcycles with inadequate mufflers, drunks shouting pendejadas in the street, and the damn bar in front of the Cancha Municipal whose music can be heard full tilt over 2 blocks away, there was no indication of anything remotely resembling a Pueblo Mágico. Just an alcoholic's paradise. Looking forward to the end of summer vacation season. #PobrePueblo #MerecemosMejor

We continue to enjoy absolutely picture-postcard perfect weather. It may have reached 32°C here in downtown Zihuatanejo this Sunday, and the humidity is just perfect (for me). No sheet was necessary for sleeping, nor was hot water necessary for bathing Saturday night, and Sunday looks to be the same. I don't know if the blue water is reaching the coast, but Zihuatanejo's bay looked extremely inviting for swimming today, and lots of our visitors were taking advantage of it. We may have another tropical disturbance zone forming to our south that could bring us some rain during this coming week.

Next Sunday officially ends our summer vacation season, and the following Monday millions of students will be back in school. The Autopista Siglo XXI was blocked for a while this Sunday, but the state government got it re-opened after peaceful dialogue with the folks blocking it. Just in time for visitors to get back to their inland homes.

We noticed a good proportion of what appear to be middle-class tourists dining out and strolling Saturday evening along the waterfront. Hopefully the new flights are making a difference. I've been in contact with lots of new potential visitors on social media from our inland cities who appear to have the purchasing power we need. Now if only we can keep them coming...
