:microbe: According to the data that Guerrero's state health officials published today, as of 3 days ago there were 17 currently active cases of Covid-19 in Zihuatanejo, 1 in Petatlán, 2 in Técpan, 1 in Benito Juárez, 25 in Acapulco, and 102 in the entire state.

:cloudwithlightningandrain: Federal authorities are describing it as a Mexican Monsoon. The storm that may still become a hurricane will first park itself off our coast and just sit for days causing monsoon conditions instead of quickly slamming into the coast as had been previously predicted. I guess that's good news, unless your house or business or the roads you need to travel get flooded. We awoke Wednesday morning to a lovely fine mist of rain. You almost couldn't detect it. It's my favorite kind of rain. But Thursday afternoon out of nowhere a thunderstorm popped up and gave us a nice dousing. The accumulated rain amounts for the next 5 days could reach 250mm. This Thursday, Friday and Saturday we can expect intense rains. After that we can expect torrential rains for Sunday. Then maybe a hurricane. Keep an eye on our local weather.

Apart from the little thunderstorm Thursday was quite lovely. Woke up to a refreshing morning after a light overnight rain. Sun came out, then disappeared, then came back out. Just what we needed. Tourists seemed unbothered and were playing in the waves.

Casi no hay obstáculo instalado en Playa Principal por la administración municipal actual con que no chocó esta pobre tortuga marina tratando de desovar en la playa mochada y obstruida. Parece por sus huellas que fue bastante desorientada por las luces brillantes que dan a la playa. Pobrecita. Pero aunque dicen una cosa, al ayuntamiento les vale. Este problema tiene años y bien que saben de la situación que perjudica tanto a las tortugas al desovar que a las crías al nacer. Les vale madre. Igual que los árboles que dañaron y cortaron para poner el cemento del alcalde. #PobrePueblo #MerecemosMejor
