From now until November locals have to tighten their belts and try to eke by until tourists return with some money to spend. The weekenders we'll get between now and then mostly only help a few beachfront restaurants and low-budget hotels as well as the all-included Ixtapa hotels from which they rarely leave. But for most of us it's a slow season we have to get through somehow.
