Besides the perfect weather, incredible natural beauty, relative tranquility, abundance of delicious local food, relative affordability, and enviably simple and slow pace of life that exists in Zihuatanejo and the region, we also enjoy a local culture known for the warmth and helpfulness of its people. Something I never take for granted and am reminded of constantly. What a marvelous place to live and to be a part of! Be aware that Tuesday 19 of September at 11:00 AM there will be a SIMULACRO NACIONAL for an earthquake. In our region we'll be doing an earthquake drill for an 8.0 with an epicenter in Acapulco, so you may hear or see people hustling about at that hour. Twice on the same anniversary date of the '85 quake in Mexico City, including the very first earthquake drill last year, we've had real earthquakes, so none of us locally are at ease during this day. Still no tropical waves flowing past our region, but the temperature drop from Sunday's rains have lingered and made for a very pleasant Monday.
