The official eastern Pacific hurricane season ended yesterday. One of the driest hurricane seasons for Zihuatanejo that I can recall, though also one of the most destructive with respect to Acapulco de Juárez and Coyuca de Benítez. A chance of rain was in our forecast this Thursday, but so far nothing. Monday and Wednesday of next week also have rain in their forecast. Keeping fingers crossed. We really need it. The local ocean temp remains unseasonably warm at around 30°C. Hoping for some upwelling that'll bring cooler waters, though it could also foment a red tide event. A fisherman friend said the ocean was strange today and a bit rough at sea with waves from different directions, which is unusual, especially since there were no swell events in the forecast for today.

It's certainly good to see more foreigners out along the downtown waterfront in the evenings. Daniel's was doing a good business when we walked by earlier this evening. Folks looked like they were getting a good RELAX going.
