According to La Voz de Zihuatanejo it would appear it was a crocodile responsible for killing both the Canadian tourist (male 66) and biting another woman (Californian?) now recovering from her wounds. The attack occurred around 9:30 this morning in front of the Club Med. The man’s left leg was severely bitten and despite best efforts of first responders he bled out on the beach. Lots of speculation in other reports elsewhere about a shark attack, as well as conflicting information about the victim, but this report, given the proximity of the two attacks appears most coherent.

Shark Attack Kills Man

I saw the bite mark photos as soon as they were available, and I also understand a bit about shark and crocodile behavior. I know people who were on the scene almost immediately. I called it right from the git-go. Eyewitness testimony, photos and forensic analysis have simply confirmed my previous statements. Please don't continue to confuse people by citing the unprofessional reporting by media unaccustomed to practicing actual journalism.
