Absolutely nothing in any local news about the shootout captured on video and shared by neighbors on social media on Sunday in Colonia El Calechoso. Very disappointing, and a reminder who the local media really work for.

Hardly a soul out walking on the waterfront this evening. The Mexican tourists seem to have all gone home, and the foreign visitors were having a good time dining and drinking at the waterfront restaurants and along the pedestrian streets. Basketball was happening at the Cancha Municipal.

The nights have felt cooler than the temps reported by the weather stations. I've had to put on a t-shirt, turn the fan down low and sleep under a sheet. I could almost see my breath in the morning. But still no snow in the forecast. ;-)

In case anyone wonders why I'm not promoting any of the local fishing tournaments coming up, it's because they're KILL tournaments. There's no reason to continue massacring fish for tournaments. Stan Lushinsky, the man most responsible for putting Zihuatanejo on the world's sport fishing map, proved we can have more international recognition and participation by having Tag & Release tournaments. A shame the local government took no notice and local sport fishing captains aren't insisting on catch & release tournaments.
