As reported to me by a neighbor/friend, during the pier event for Sailfest, the public restrooms were available for use with no charge.

Last night he was required to pay for their use. When he asked he was told that the Presidente did not approve of parts of GuitarFest.

OK, so where does the money go? They raise a lot of it, like Sailfest, but Sailfest puts basically all of the money raised back into the community. Where does the Guitar Fest money go? It is all volunteers, and donated lodging for the artists, right?

Just had a brief chat with Heidi Nygard the Directir of Guitar Fest.
Unlike Sailfest which apparently has several generous donors, Guitar Fest is a self-sustaining entity that pays for transportation and accommodations for the performers as well as all the other expenses of putting on a festival.
If there is money left over it goes to support musical programs of various kinds in Zihua, including providing instruments for instruction.
