Zihua airport problems

Came in this afternoon and took over 90 minutes to get through immigration and customs. Immigration I can sort of understand but what chaos just to push the green or red bottom. A black eye for zihua. Where do all the fees we pay when purchasing airline ticket go to?

What a colorful posting.

I don’t recall seeing any green bottoms in Zihuatanejo. Maybe on March 17-18 after too much St Patrick’s Day green beer?

I’ve seen plenty of red bottoms, usually after gringos have been on a beach here for two days. :smilingfacewithsmilingeyes:

But all of that aside, I have found getting through customs at ZIH to be a crapshoot. I have experienced similar this as reported here and by friends/acquaintances. Some arrivals are as smooth as a baby’s behind. Others are like what comes out of a baby’s behind.

We have brought things through customs that I was sure would attract attention and there was nothing but a smile from aduana. Other times minor items have extracted significant money from pockets, always with proper documentation given by aduana.

I mostly avoid ZIH aduana now by arriving through Mexico City, but I anticipate a possible adventure when I return through ZIH later this month.
