Zihuatanejo awoke to even colder temperatures this Tuesday morning. 12°C was registered by someone in Coacoyul. As far as I know, that's the coldest we've ever registered here. During our stroll to the pier this evening it was even cooler than the previous evening, but only locals seemed to notice. Visitors and other folks from cooler places seemed unaffected while locals were shivering and hustling to get to their destination as a nipper wind blew in from the west. Expect more of the same tonight. But not to worry, as soon as the sun comes out it warms up quickly.

The so-called "Operativo de Seguridad de la Temporada Vacacional de Semana Santa 2024" got underway Monday morning, and on Monday evening 14 cars on Calle Juan N. Álvarez, Zihuatanejo's main downtown street, had their windshields front and back smashed by a vandal or vandals. The "Operativo" is a sham, window dressing, photo ops. We have no police or public vigilance like we should have operating around the clock. Our police mostly are adornments who serve as bodyguards for the mayor and for getting their photos taken after a crime has already been committed.
