Hotel occupancy in Zihuatanejo was allegedly over 77% this Friday, according to the folks who supply us with las cifras alegres del Turismo. The downtown beach was certainly full of beachgoers all day including people with their tents, some who spend the night on the beach, what we locals like to call Hotel Camarena.

The morning procession of La Vía Crucis was very heartwarming with hundreds of faithful in attendance, including my saint of a wife. The VI Estación was in front of our home, and there's a video of it posted on my Facebook page filmed from the terrace of Café Caracol as the procession passed.

Mariachis played on the beach Thursday from the late afternoon until almost midnight. They must've been in rough shape by the time they left, but considerably well paid, I expect.

Water temperature in the bay today was measured at 24.75°C this evening. Brrrrr! Way too cold for locals, but our visitors seem not to notice.

A simple and quiet but very scenic pet-friendly vacation getaway at Playa Blanca is El Manantial. Two one-bedroom bungalows and two houses, one with three bedrooms and the other with six, located on the beach. Perfect for honeymooners.
