Local water temperature appears to be staying above 26.5°C, warm enough for hurricane formation. Fortunately there are no potential storms currently predicted, though we could certainly use a little rain. The mar de fondo event the past few days had waves washing halfway over the still unpaved part of Playa Principal, and while the mar de fondo event has subsided today, waves from 6 to 8 feet continue to be forecast along our coast for the next couple of days. Zihuatanejo's bay saw quite a bit of sea foam this Tuesday from the wave action on the rocks, and the water didn't seem as clear today as it had been last week.

The heat has arrived! No more cool evenings or mornings. No more cool breezes from the mountains. ¡Uff!

Next week the election campaigns come to a close all across Mexico. We vote on June 2. Maybe we'll start getting to see actual news again in our local media.

I forgot to ask if anyone knew what all the black smoke was from Sunday evening in La Ropa. We could spot it from the pier. Not a word in any local media. Hope no one was hurt.

Hardly a tourist in sight all day. The downtown beach remained mostly empty again, and I only say a handful of swimmers throughout the day. Most restaurants were empty or mostly empty. We have no holidays or events happening until the Triatlón on June 8.
