We enjoyed another mild mostly cloudy day in Zihuatanejo. It barely sprinkled overnight. It looks like it wants to rain, but nothing happens. Just big dark clouds scudding by. But from the forecasts it looks like we'll be getting plenty of rain in the coming week. The storm at the center of this system has become Tropical Storm Alberto, the Atlantic's first named storm. However, as soon as it hits land it looks like another storm will form up in the same place in front of the coast of Tabasco and repeat the process. No fun for the folks in southeastern Mexico who have been suffering widespread flooding for most of a week now.

We saw a few tourists, but not many, out strolling along the waterfront this evening, and several were swimming and enjoying the downtown beach during the day. Haven't seen any malaguas on our beach. Haven't seen any sea turtles, either.

Another mar de fondo event is occurring along our coast. Every now and then some large waves roll in on top of massive amounts of water, maybe a meter high at most inside Zihuatanejo's Bay. I imagine they're closer to 2 and 3 meters outside the bay.
